Content and evaluation In December 2007, the Heidenheim Police Headquarters handed over about 30 files stored in its cellars to the Ludwigsburg State Archives. The files mainly contain documents from the time of the Third Reich. They concern the establishment, furnishing and management of the police force in Heidenheim with its affiliated Schutzpolizeischule. The documents after 1945 refer to the Heidenheim Municipal Police Office and the Heidenheim State Police Commissariat. In addition to official instructions and leaflets, the accommodation and meals of the police officers are documented in detail, in general, during missions abroad and during war operations. An overview of the staff employed in Heidenheim is provided by the proofs of payment kept at the police cash register as well as the documents on the political cleansing of police officers. Particularly worth mentioning is a detailed war diary from June 1939 to October 1944 (Bü 31). It reports on orders and implementation of measures in war, additionally it contains the leaflets dropped over Heidenheim and its surroundings and found by targeted search actions. During his practical semester from March to July 2012, Julian Dauner recorded and classified the files from the years 1932-1956 under the guidance of Gabriele Benning. In April 2013 (access 2013/42), 5 volumes were received from the Heidenheim Police Headquarters and included in the collection (Bü 39-43).
