Establishment of a German native school in Dar es Salaam at the suggestion of the governor of D e u t s c h - O s t a f r i k a Freiherr von Soden; recruitment of a teacher by the German Colonial Society; correspondence with von Soden, the Württemberg Minister of Churches and Education Sarwey and applicants for the position; acceptance of teacher Barth from Friedrichshafen to complete a Swahili language course; establishment of the school in Tanga; complaints by Barth about lack of support and his return to Germany.
