Die Sammlung setzt sich aus zwei Teilen zusammen, 19 W. aus dem britischen Nord-Neuguinea, 17 W. aus dem holländischen Süd-Neuguinea. Die ursprüngliche Numerierung beginnt im Süden und schließt als Nr. 18 - 36 den zweiten Teil an. Im PHA wurde umgekehrt numeriert: W. 1 beginnt bei der ursprünglichen Nr. 18 und endet mit 34 bei der ursprünglichen Nr. 15.
