Biographical history

Archival history

From the apostolic prefecture of Cameroon no files were handed in, only some fragments of the records were brought by the missionaries over the internment and deposited in Limburg. These were mainly accounting books which were important for the filing of compensation applications and were therefore left as annexes to the files of the Provincial Council (A.11).files of the prefecture and the houses were only treated as their own provisions if they had a certain scope or a certain autonomy in terms of records, so in the accounting documents of Ikasa. All the individual provinces of the prefecture and houses of Cameroon have been combined to form a territorial provenance of Cameroon. files of the prefecture of Cameroon have also been preserved in the archive of the Spiritans in Paris, namely the intra-Cameroonian correspondence of Vieter with Hoegn, Nekes and Rosenhuber in the amount of 168 letters found by the Salesians in Cameroon. Fr. Bökenhoff had copies made of these correspondences, which can be found under A.11-280 - A.11-284 - Bi-annual reports of the Pallottine Congregation on its mission in Cameroon and its mission houses in Limburt a.d. Lahn and Ehrenbreitstein, 1 - 34 Report, Limburg 1893-1910- The Star of Africa : illustrated monthly publication for the spreading of the faith; organ of the Pallottine Congregation / edited by the Mission House in Limburg a.d. L., Limburg a.d. L. (Limburger club print) No. 1 - 28, 1894-1921
