The curator was the authority of the state university administration (in contrast to the academic self-administration by the rectorate). Since the establishment of the Prussian provinces in 1816, the Chief President of the Province of Westphalia took over the office of University Curator, most recently Dr. Bernhard Wuermeling. The University Constitution of 1970 (Rectorate Constitution) abolished state administration. The tasks of the curator were largely assumed by the chancellor as head of the university administration. 1888 saw the start of a separate curatorial registration office in the upper presidium, which was continued until 1970. This overdelivery is contained in this inventory. It consists of two file deliveries, the first in the late 1970s and the second in 2006. The first delivery consisted of files until 1951, which were kept according to the file plan at that time. Initially, this subject identification was retained as a signature, but later a numerical system was introduced which included the signatures (order numbers) 1 to 1447. The second delivery originates from the central registry of the university administration and was managed according to a more recent file plan. It consists of fact files of the years 1951 to 1970. Both the fan marking and the file numbers of the newer file plan were taken up into the listing. Hand-files of the curators Clemens Steinbicker and Oswald Freiherr von Fürstenberg were added to the collection.
